About Jeanette Lawrenson

Before she launched Florida Best Quote, Jeanette Lawrenson was a successful, full-time Realtor in Belleair, Florida. She started her Florida insurance agency in the aftermath of the 2005-2006 hurricane season. That was the season that left Jeanette and fellow Floridians scrambling when the big box insurance companies started cancelling policies.

Under her new insurer, Jeanette’s premiums more than tripled. Like almost everyone in the state, she did not realize that this Florida insurance agency providing her coverage did not explain choices – choices that dramatically impacted cost.

Navigating the maze of her own insurance nightmare left the Florida native confused, exasperated, and then angry when she learned a friend was paying 30 percent less for the same coverage.

From this experience Jeanette understood how easily people can find themselves at the mercy of a Florida insurance agency. She knew there had to be a better way.

Jeanette enrolled in school and earned her license to sell policies. First, she ‘shopped’ homeowner’s policies for friends, family, and associates. She saved them money. Jeanette also took the time to educate them about their coverage and deductible choices. They told everyone they knew, and Florida Best Quote was born.

After solidifying coverage alternatives for homeowners, Florida Best Quote expanded by applying the same principle to auto, boat, and other types of insurance. Policy holders started saving an average of more than $100/month.
